Together Living Collection

The pieces in this collection seek to celebrate some of the intricate symbiotic relationships existing in the natural world, many of them unobserved or misunderstood. I was inspired by instances of this including the relationship between ants and aphids, cleaner fish and larger marine animals, and fungi and algae within lichens, observing the fragile and intricate interactions in these special relationships.

The consideration of tactility, weight and cast shadows in each piece is intended to invoke a curiosity in its viewers. You can see a video documenting some of the brooches here

The earliest collection comprised of 40 brooches (seen below), which have been added to throughout the project. Selections of the works have been displayed at Galerie Marzee, The Goldsmiths Centre, The Scottish National Gallery, Manchster Craft and Design Centre, Platform Schmuckkunst and others.

This is an ongiong line of enquiry and collection.
